GALLERY: Goodies galore at Boeremark

Van Rensburg also made mention of the numerous exhibitors from outside of Newcastle, who had flocked to the event to show off their wares.

Handmade was the theme of Saturday’s Boeremark at the Farmers Hall.

Organiser, Johan van Rensburg explained the emphasis of the market day was for exhibitors to display and sell homemade items.

Many of these items were individually crafted, he added.

Van Rensburg also made mention of the numerous exhibitors from outside of Newcastle, who had flocked to the event to show off their wares.

“This is not a flea market. We have people selling food and handmade items.”

These ranged from succulent plants, leatherwork pieces, art, lamps fashioned from plastic piping to an array of foodstuffs and treats.

Proof of the event’s popularity was in its appeal.

Van Rensburg said his intention was to host more than 20 Boeremark events in 2018, and for the next two decades beyond.
