Ladysmith Angling Club will battle Challenges, while Breakwaters takes on Dannhauser, with the winners advancing to the finals.

Competing clubs will fish in the same zone, determined by a draw on the morning of the competition.

With recent competitions producing few fish, organisers are predicting a few surprises.

In other news, the second registration period for the APL has opened.

Angling enthusiasts who wish to join the league can do so through registered affiliates before February 19.

The season title holders thus far include:

Yusuf Cassim of Dannhauser – Heaviest Scaled Fish: 3.87 kilogrammes

Valentino Murugan of Ladysmith – Heaviest Non Scaled Fish: 11.49kg

Abhay Jawair of Stillwaters – Junior Angler of the Year: six points

Veruschka Boodhoo of Stillwaters – Lady Angler of the Year: six points

Dan Govinder of Ladysmith – Senior Angler of the Year: 12 points

Monty Slabbert of Breakwaters – Angler of the Year: 43 points.

Organisers are looking forward to the remainder of competitions for the season, and certainly feel some upsets may be in store.
