SPORT: Golfers indulge in weekend competition
At the culmination of play on Saturday, the following golfers proved themselves a shot or two above the remainder of the field:
Perfect weather conditions were conducive to great golf this weekend.
In the absence of a formal sponsored competition, golfers instead vied for top honours at the Newcastle Golf Club Sponsored Competition on Saturday.
This event generally includes a few prizes.

At the culmination of play on Saturday, the following golfers proved themselves a shot or two above the remainder of the field:
Lukas Oosthuizen finished first with 42 points.
Second place went to Ronnie Acker (41 points).
After a count-out in the three-way tie, 36-point contest for third position, Pierre Uys was announced as third overall.
Fourth and fifth went to Elred Darvall and Renier Terblanche respectively.
