RACEWAY NEWS: Racers chase the finish line at the monthly Oval Track – (Gallery)

After yet another thrilling round of action-packed motorsport at the Newcastle Raceway, the official results were in.

As usual, the Oval Track sated locals’ need for speed on Saturday.

Congratulations to the following drivers:

Go-karts

Thaba-Jan Ntjobokoane claimed the chequered flag, ahead of Raeesa Cassim and Liam Lindeque in second and third respectively.

Rookies

Stephan van der Merwe was fastest, fending off Elzaan Venter and CJ Myburgh.

1600s

Wilma Lindeque crossed the line as the winner, with Ali Jamaloodeen and Zaakira Khan rounding off the podium finishers.

1660s

The divisional winner was Tiaan Buys, followed by Kevin White in second and Craig Lindeque in third.

2-litres

Willie Erasmus took home the winner’s trophy, ahead of Gideon Hand and Shaukat Khan.

Hot rods

First position went to Francois Greyvensteyn, with Gideon Hand claiming second and Willie Erasmus ending in third place.

Tin tops/ V8 flexis

Kevin White clinched the chequered flag ahead of Henk van Rooyen and Craig Lindeque.
