Bowlers raise the steaks at monthly meat competition

Meanwhile, the KwaZulu-Natal Country Bowls (KZNCB) District AGM was held at Vryheid Bowling Club last weekend, where the incumbent president, Gavin Robinson was re-elected to serve another year in office.

This month’s FedAuto meat competition – which is held on the first Saturday of each month – was won by Joan Schoon, Marius Bouwer Snr and Adrian van der Merwe, with Henk Zaal, Mike Martens, Mike Hartman and Edith Pretorius in second place.

Meanwhile, the KwaZulu-Natal Country Bowls (KZNCB) District AGM was held at Vryheid Bowling Club last weekend, where the incumbent president, Gavin Robinson was re-elected to serve another year in office.

After the AGM, trials to select the provision teams for the 2019 South African Inter-District tournaments were held, with the following Newcastle members selected to play in the Presidents Cup in October:

Ladies Open A: Samantha Shaw, Michelle Steele, Alice Howe and Sue Hutchinson.

Ladies Senior: Marie Botha.

Men’s Open A: John Douthwaite.

Men’s Open B: Stephen Shaw and Douglas Steele.

Men’s President: Trevor Hutchinson.
