Local runners explore ocean beachfront in scenic event

Runners and walkers had an action-packed 10km journey that wanders and highlights important landmarks

Three athletes from Vryheid Athletic Club competed in the scenic Absa Run Your City Durban 10km event on Sunday. This race has produced nail-biting performances since it started in 2017 and is cemented as one of Durban’s and South Africa’s must-do events.
The elite race abides by its name, since there is no lack in excitement, even though it is a mass participation road run that grants all runners the opportunity to explore their city on foot.
Runners and walkers had an action-packed 10km journey that wanders and highlights important landmarks and features live entertainment from leading performing arts groups. There is no shortage of fresh sea air and a magnificent ocean view along the route.
The results were as follows:

Michael Bhengu – 1:00:10;

Lindelwe Shongwe – 1:15:08; and

Silindile Zungu – 1:12:32.
