Local parkrun founder celebrates 250 events

Daan Kotze completed his 250th event

Vryheid parkrunners are continuing to notch up excellent results every week. Smangele Mnguni was the top ladies’ runner and placed second overall. Nhlanhla Ncube was the overall winner, even though he arrived late and had to overtake everyone to finish first.
Daan Kotze completed his 250th event. Daan was one of Vryheid parkrun’s founding fathers, so it is totally fitting that he has become Vryheid’s first participant to reach this accomplishment. “Thank you, Daan, for your contribution to our local parkrun and congratulations on your 250th event.”
One personal best time was recorded by Buyisiwe. Vryheid parkrun also welcomed first-timers and visitors Marlene, Jenny, Dalinda, Cheyenne, Denise, Fanel’okuhle and Sibusiso.
