Frances ‘stoked’ at fourth place in Tswane classic
At the 50km mark, I got into a break with five other women. I dropped off just after, but managed to chase back.
On Sunday, Frances Janse Van Rensburg raced the 98 kilometer Tswane Classic road race in Pretoria.
The race went really well for Frances.
In her words: “At the 50km mark, I got into a break with five other women.
I dropped off just after, but managed to chase back.
I then got dropped again on the Tom Jenkins climb in the final, but gave it all I had to chase back to the front group and caught them 3km from the finish.”
Although Frances said her legs didn’t show up to the party at all after a good training week, she really enjoyed the race and gained good experience from it.
She gave it her all in the last 3km to finish fourth overall in the sprint.
Frances said she was ‘really stoked’ and congratulated everyone who raced.
“Thank you to Positive Sport Solutions SA for the support in the race.”
