Club management views the acquisition of this talented midfielder as a significant boost to their ambitions.

Gqom Gang Football Club has officially announced Siyanda Howard Mtshali, also known as ‘Mabhece’, as their latest signing ahead of the 2026/2027 Hollywoodbets Uthukela Men’s Regional League season.

The unveiling ceremony took place at Lambert Park yesterday (October 14), marking what is regarded as one of the biggest signings in the club’s history and a major statement of intent ahead of their new campaign.

High-profile move to Gqom Gang

Mabhece joins Gqom Gang FC from Ntabamhlophe Vultures FC, bringing his experience and attacking quality to a side determined to build on last season’s performance.

The signing has generated considerable excitement within the club, with management viewing the acquisition of this talented midfielder as a significant boost to their ambitions for the upcoming season.

‘Gqom Gang have struck gold’

Speaking about the new addition to the team, club management member Bonga Mnguni praised Mabhece’s talent, discipline and commitment to the game.

“Siyanda is a very talented and attacking midfielder. Everyone who follows our league can attest to that. Gqom Gang really have struck gold by signing a player of his calibre,” said Mnguni.

The club believes that Mabhece’s qualities and experience will make him a valuable addition as they prepare for the challenges of the new season.

Challenging for the title

The left-footed midfielder is expected to play an important role in Gqom Gang FC’s pursuit of league success in the 2026/2027 season, which is expected to kick off on Sunday (October 18).

Having finished second on the log last season, the club will be eager to go one better and challenge for top spot. Mabhece’s arrival is expected to strengthen the team’s attacking options as they look to turn their ambitions into results on the pitch.
