Zululand District disability team has sport success in the bag

All 11 KwaZulu-Natal districts participated in various disability sport codes.

Around 20 disabled individuals from AbaQulusi represented the Zululand District recently.
To coincide with National Disability Rights Awareness Month, observed annually between November 3 and December 3, the King Cetshwayo District hosted the Provincial Disability Games in Richards Bay from November 8 to 10.
All 11 KwaZulu-Natal districts participated in various disability sport codes.
Chairperson of the AbaQulusi Disability Forum, Sbonga Zulu said it was the second year the Zululand District team had participated in the games, and placed seventh overall. This is an improvement on last year’s 10th place finish.
The Zululand District team achieved the following results:
Chess: eighth place
Table tennis: third place
Netball: fourth place
Soccer: first place
Wheelchair racing: first place
Athletics: fourth place
Umlabalaba: seventh place.

The Zululand District team, which competed in Richards Bay, boasts 20 members from AbaQulusi.
