Newcastillian represents at international level
Nishal Rampersadh hosted Bollywood star, Hrithik Roshan at a launch event in Singapore.
Former Newcastillian, Nishal Rampersadh is marketing himself and his town on an international scale.
He was part of the management team who hosted none other than Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan at a movie launch of ‘Krrish 3’ in Singapore on the weekend of September 20. For Mr Rampersadh, the long nights and early mornings certainly paid dividends.
“To arrange and host something of this magnitude takes months of planning, but we have coordinated this in weeks and one can only achieve such success if they have the right character, a good team, a support structure and strong leadership capabilities.”
Mr Rampersadh further commended his team as well as that of Hrithik. Being around an international Bollywood movie star was not the most nerve-wracking part of the experience, however, but rather handling international media who flocked to the gala dinner.
“It was not easy, especially when you are in a foreign land. But no one knows that feeling better than me, as I had that experience from back home in Lenasia.” Mr Rampersadh added his close family in sister, Narisha, Sajnay and his nieces, Thejal and Tahlia were great supporters.
Krrish 3, which is a sequel to Krrish and Koi Mil Gaya, is produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan, who casts his son, Hrithik in the role of lead actor. The previous two movies have scooped international awards and the third is will be released worldwide during Deepavali.
Speaking on the movie, Hrithik said: “Krrish is a symbol. It signifies good over evil. I live my life to those values. I think the greatest learning that I have achieved is from the movie Krrish.”
“I ask the question, ‘what do you need to be a super hero?’ It cannot be the jacket or the mask or the building he jumps from, it is the fact that he stands by certain codes… He is in service to the people. I just look at my life like that.”
