Rubbish all over the road

A large, green ‘No Dumping’ sign is simply ignored as people dump all kinds of waste products on this vacant land

Residents who live in the Daffodil Crescent area are complaining about the state of the vacant land at the bottom of the road that has turned into a dumping site.
A large, green ‘No Dumping’ sign is simply ignored as people dump all kinds of waste products on this vacant land.
The amount of rubbish piling up is getting so out of hand that a lot of it is now ending up in the road and making motorists angry.
One motorist has already picked up a puncture. The vacant land has walls around it, but the rubbish is stacked so high in some places that the walls can’t even be seen for the garden trimmings, broken roof tiles, household waste, etc. Even a toilet has been dumped.
On many days, cattle walk through the dump and eat food left-overs that people simply add to the pile of trash. The cattle are also eating plastic in their attempt to get to the grass and scraps of food. “I even see snakes on a daily basis slithering out of the dumping ground. Who knows if the snakes are poisonous or not. The whole situation is just out of control and something needs to be done about it,” complained one resident.
At the time of going to press, the municipality had not commented.
