Temple holds prayers for protection

The Maha Durga Mundal Temple held its annual Maha Durga Navarati Panchpooja on Saturday in Balsam Avenue. The temple is dedicated to Maha Durga (Goddess) and the Maha Durga prayers have been held at this temple for the past 13 years.

The following prayers were performed on Saturday: Devi, Agni, Indra, Navarati and Public Pooja, as well as fire-walking. During the Panchpooja, which is a public prayer, devotees ask Bhandi Mata to protect them, their families and the world at large from diseases. They also pray for protection of their homes, jobs, children, education and health.

The Panchpooja was a great success, with Guru Raybhai thanking the large group of well-wishers who attended.
