Our resident ghost hunters, Francois and Tasha Rossouw, recently visited a house to see if they could get rid of the spirits and demons lurking there.
The residents of the house in Observation Hill contacted Francois and Tasha, as they claim strange things are happening at their house.  The doorbell rings in the middle of the night, but  no one’s there.

They  see shadows that can’t be explained. The lady of the house even saw a man standing in her bedroom, only to blink and he was gone. At the back of the house, there are two storage rooms where they fear to go. When the man of the house does handy work in these rooms, he sometimes feels like hurting himself and gets very angry and frustrated.
So, having read the article in the Ladysmith Gazette on Ladysmith’s own ghost busters, the family called in the ghost-hunting duo  to investigate.

Francois and Tasha went to the house at night and attempted to communicate with the spirits in order to get them to leave.
We sent a Gazette journalist  along to see what would happen.

They spoke about a little boy’s spirit they call ‘the trickster’. This is the ghost that rings the doorbell and likes to play hide and seek. An old photo found by the family in the storage rooms is believed to be a photo of the trickster.

Entering the house armed with a Bible and some holy oil, the pair got to work. They moved into the different rooms and asked for any spirits to come forward. ” Show yourself or let us know you are here,” they chanted.

Strange ‘sniffing’ sounds could be heard in the passage, but nothing was seen.

When they moved to the storage rooms, again they asked that if a spirit was present, let itself be known. When Francois asked if there was something there, there was a distinct sound as if something was being rolled across the floor. “It’s hard to explain, but you feel a tingling up your spine, a sense of evil in that room,” explained our journalist. “While I have an open mind, I will not be in a hurry to go back in there,” she added.

When the light was turned on, there was nothing! Passages were read from the Bible to still the spirits, and the situation was explained to the home’s residents. Francois and Tasha will be returning to the house to do more ‘banishing’ there.

Our journalist returned to the fold a little wiser and with an eerie feeling that this haunting is far from over…
