All set for a very Kirkland Christmas
The Kirkland family will host underprivileged children at their home each week.

Tillie and Allan Kirkland are putting the charity spirit into their festive season this year. As the days count down to the annual ‘lights on’, Mr and Mrs Kirkland are hard at work preparing to host their guests – children!
The Kirkland’s garden has already undergone a major transformation, with gleaming lights and festive adornments setting the scene for a memorable Christmas. Exactly what will be on display from November 22, Mrs Kirkland is keeping mum.
“It’s all tying into a festive garden encompassing a walkway for the public to take a tour,” she explained.
To generate additional funds for gifts, a concert will be held on next month, featuring two popular Afrikaans artists.
‘Supercool’ Dirk van der Westhuizen, who made an appearance at the local ‘Amazing Race’ earlier in the year, will be in full swing, while dancers can later revel in the sounds of the ‘Kannie Warries Boereorkes’.
The concert takes place on November 2 at the Show Hall from 7pm. Entry costs are R50 per person and R20 for children under the age of 12, and guests must ‘bring their own basket’ of picnic style food and beverages to enjoy during throughout the evening.
Tables can be booked ahead of time with Tillie on 082 466 2994 or with Phyllis on 082 460 9814.
