New computer lab at school

A new computer lab was officially launched at Nswelamanzi Primary School in Ezakheni last week.

Council say they are “proud, confident and accelerating in assisting through developing co-operative and developmental partnerships with the private sector and NGOs / NPOs for advancing and improving the basic education conditions of teaching and learning”.

In action and fulfilling that mandate, Ward Councillor Zweli Mazibuko accompanied Sikhona Care Centre manager Mr Mazibuko as they officially launched and opened the new computer lab at Nswelamanzi Primary School in Ezakheni on Tuesday, October 22.

Mr Mazibuko said the computers were a donation from abroad, and that he and the donors collectively decided to give them to this school. His wishes are that the pupils learn through computers and enhance their computer skills without having to go into computer training colleges. Cllr Zweli Mazibuko related his gratitude to Sikhona Care Centre for this donation towards enriching the community. He motivated the children to use the computers wisely and take great care of them. He also spoke of the many opportunities such as the bursaries that Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality has to offer.

The deputy principal of the school and members of the school governing body all showed their gratitude and appreciation for this life-improving donation that will help to improve the future of the children in the community. The children were delighted with this kind gesture and are waiting to learn more from the computers provided to them.

The mayor would like to invite all progressive affiliates in all sectors to work co-operatively with council in ensuring that the conditions of basic education are well resourced in the form of donations and sponsors. This, he says, will create an enabling environment for learners to become a well-educated future generation that will assist in the development of our town.
