Would-be thief receives beating from vigilantes

A would-be thief was assaulted yesterday on Kirkland Street, across St Oswalds High School.

According to witnesses on the scene, the suspect allegedly stole a handbag, and was then chased down by onlookers, who then beat him with his own crutch.

The task of chasing the would-be thief down was made easier due to the fact that the suspect already had a broken leg, and was using one crutch to walk.

Allegedly, the victims then proceeded to the police station to open a case of theft against the suspect.

The suspect resisted the attempts of paramedics to transport him to the hospital for treatment.
