Couple robbed at Protection Services
The couple were robbed while in the parking lot of Protection Services.
A couple was robbed in the Protection Services parking area this afternoon, within a stone’s throw of traffic officials and fire fighters coming on duty.
Witnesses say the husband left his wife seated in the car while he went in to pay a traffic fine.
Shortly after he walked away from the vehicle, his wife’s screams alerted him to the fact that something was amiss.
She apparently heard her boot opening and realised that her vehicle was being tampered with while she was in it. Her handbag was stolen from the boot and it is believed that she was at the bank earlier today and may have been followed.
The robbers fled in a white Tazz. Even though traffic officials gave chase, they could not ascertain which direction the Tazz had gone in and the robbers managed to get away.
Asked how the robbers managed to get in through, and then out of the gate where a security guard was supposed to administer strict access control, even after the screams for help from the victim, municipal spokesperson, Zandile Masando, said she just needed a bit of time to gather the facts before she could respond.
