  • Minutes after the Courier posted the news that Nelson Mandela had passed away peacefully in his Houghton home, shortly before 9pm, readers started posting their condolences and tributes to the Statesmen.
    Some of these read as:

    This morning South African flags were  at half mast outside the Magistrate’s Court, Police Station and Royal Country Inn.
