Problems at public viewing area
The screen was off-loaded at Mpumelelo stadium in Sibongile and it went back to Durban without fullfilling what it was hired for.

There was a big screen set up for the public of Sibongile to view Madiba’s memorial service – the only problem was, no signal.
Residents were left scratching their heads when they went to the Mpumelelo Stadium with the hope of catching the historic event on the giant screen.
But only music was played. It is understood that the screen was erected by the provincial authorities. Ward 4 Councillor Bheki Ngobese fumed that, “It is not fair that (local) leaders were not told of their intentions.
“People were coming in and out – they didn’t know what was happening because the speakers only played music – no satellite dish was arranged in order to view the proceedings.”
The screen was off-loaded last Tuesday and went back to Durban without fullfilling what it was hired for – no doubt money down the drain.
