First matric class gets 100% pass
They are the first school in the district in over 15 years to have a 100% pass rate for their first Grade 12 class
Bhevu High School in Roosboom is celebrating a 100% matric pass rate. They have reason to be especially proud, because the ‘Class of 2013’ was the first matric class at the school.
According to the Department of Education, they are the first school in the district in over 15 years to have a 100% pass rate for their first Grade 12 class.
The class had 16 pupils, of whom 12 passed with admission to a Bachelors degree and four passed with admission to Diploma. The top achievers were Thabo Maepa with one A and three Bs, and Zuzile Mabaso with one A and two Bs. Nqobile Kubheka, Siphephelo Tau and Nthokozo Sithole were the other pupils in the school’s top five matriculants. Thabo will be joining the University of Technology to study Chemical Engineering and Zuzile will be going to study Radiography at the University of the Free State.
School principal Gugu Ntshangase is extremely proud of her pupils and would like to thank the staff and pupils for all their hard work. A special vote of thanks goes to Mrs Nomfundo Dladla from Steadville High who gave of her time during weekends to teach Accounting to the pupils.
