Sarel Cilliers’s Reesha top student in Umzinyathi

Sarel Cilliers’ Class of 2013 registered a pass rate of 92%, with 185 out of the 204 matrics who sat for the exams passing.
Principal Dr Tinus Neethling expressed his delight with the news that two Sarel Cilliers matriculants, Cherise Basdau and Reesha Mohan, were in the top five in the Umzinyathi education district.  Reesha was named top student in the Umzinyathi District with Dundee High’s Catherine Willis-Smith second.
Reesha, following in the footsteps of her sister Jasmin, who was the top student last year, notched up eight A symbols in English, Afrikaans, Maths, Life Orientation, Accounting, Business Studies, Life Science and Science.
She wants to study accountancy in Durban.
Cherise also scored eight distinctions in English, Afrikaans, Maths Literacy, Life Orientation, Business Studies, Computer Technology and Tourism.
Other Sarel Cilliers matriculants who did well included M Zondo (five As), PM Khambule (five As), B Ntimbane (four As), B Mahlaba (four As), Meneloau Meli (three As), ZC Zulu (three As), and A Chiya (three As).
Thirty-two percent of those who sat for the exams were awarded ‘Bach
