Newcastle Squash Club (NSC) is inviting members of the public to join them for a fun-filled and exciting day of social squash, all while supporting a great cause.

The aim is to raise funds for breast cancer awareness on October 3 at the club (old Iscor Club sports grounds) in Drakensberg Drive.

Support a good cause

The club will host a Shavathon and raffle, with participants standing a chance to win a beautiful pink-themed goodie basket.

According to Samantha Jordaan, raffle tickets are being sold for R10 each and can be purchased beforehand or on the day.

The Shavathon will take place from 08:00 to 12:00. You can show your support by either shaving your head or colouring your hair. Although the Shavathon is free, donations of any amount, no matter how big or small, will be appreciated.

Breast cancer awareness pins will also be sold for R10 each.

Enjoy a day of social squash

Bringing the event together will be a fun social squash day, which will be open to members of the public to come and enjoy the sport.

Entrance is R150 per person and includes a breakfast bun, a Spur burger for lunch, and pap & gravy to enjoy during the ‘bring and braai’ later in the day.

Participants can either enter a team of four or participate in the singles or doubles divisions.

Briefing starts at 08:30, with games commencing at 09:00 sharp.

Entries need to be confirmed and paid by September 25.

Guests are encouraged to stay for the rugby afterwards, which will be shown on a big screen.
