Well, Mr and Mrs Rajcoomar Sewhurichand who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 21, 2013 say that upholding the vows taken during marriage will guide couples on the right path. “In our Hindu culture we take seven vows during the marriage ceremony and we have kept to these promises. My advice to young married couples is to do the same,” said Mr Rajcoomar Sewhurichand.
He is the eldest son of the late Mr and Mrs Sewhurichand Ameeka from Bergville.
While living in Zaailaager, Mr Rajcoomar Sewhurichand was introduced to his future wife, who is the eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs George Sarup from Mooi River.
The marriage was arranged and on December 21, 1963 the couple tied the knot in Mooi River. Mrs and Mrs Rajcoomar Sewhurichand have five children, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
