Top achiever to study medicine
Nishay plans to eat healthy, play sports and make lots of time to study.
Lincoln Heights pupil, Nishay Singh, has his goals firmly in mind.
He achieved 6 A symbols and is now on his way to the University of Pretoria, where he will be studying medicine.
“My matric year has been very intense. Many late nights and sacrificing a lot of social time to study,” said Nishay. “I have wanted to be a doctor since I was quite young, so I am very nervous and excited to be on my way to study medicine.”
Even with all the studying and exams, Nishay found time to play sport, cricket, golf and hockey at provincial level. Due to his level of dedication and skill, Nishay has earned himself a personal letter of congratulations from the Dean of the university, and has been placed on the Dean’s List.
Nishay plans to eat healthy, play sports and make lots of time to study. A big part of his motivation is curiosity, as his sister is in her final year of study, also towards a medical degree.
“Just listening to all the stories she has to tell, it makes me want to find out more. I hope to specialise in trauma surgery. It would be very exciting to be able to save lives,” he said.
Nishay will definitely be the one to watch, as he is sure to excel in all aspects.
