Team Purpose Driven spread the back to school cheer

Team Purpose Driven, a non-profit organisation based in Newcastle, spread some back-to-school cheer by donating school uniforms to 10 pupils.

Imagine the look of utter surprise on these children’s faces when they arrived at assembly on January 15 at Sosinda Primary School just outside oSizweni.

At the assembly, the team was welcomed by parents and staff. The founder of the organisation, Mpumelelo Ndamane, addressed the children, and said that education was the key to success, and that education was a skill that would enable them to achieve their dreams so that one day, the children themselves could help the needy, creating a better society for all.

Team Purpose Driven is an organisation that is run by proactive young people, who envision themselves as being activists in the bettering of young lives and young minds, pioneers in setting standards and trends for the youth in all facets of life, while positively changing lives and being unconventional in terms of faith.

With such a vision, the young members of Team Purpose Driven recently launched projects in the area. The first was a Chistmas project where, in association with The Greater Harvest Church International in Newcastle, the team gathered clothes and donated them to the needy.

Team Purpose Driven embarked on their second project, and with the use of Newcastle Community Radio, social networking platforms and also contributions from The Greater Harvest Church International, The Assemblies of God Church at Madadeni Section 2 and various other donors, this newly formed organisation was able to raise R 6 000, and put it towards buying school clothes for the children.
