One killed after heated argument

The victim was shot at least three times, with a fatal gun shot wound to the head.

One man was shot and killed in Blaauwbosch this morning following an altercation with three suspects.

This, according to some, is just the latest statistic in escalating taxi violence in the area.

Now, police are on the hunt for the perpetrators.

According to witnesses, the victim, who was a taxi driver, had confronted three other men with the intention to fight them. According to a witness at the scene, the victim accused the three men of bullying him.

While circumstances surrounding the confrontation are still murky at this stage, witnesses said the victim’s brother arrived at the scene to assist.

“He tried to separate them, and was pulling the victim towards his vehicle when another suspect opened fire on them,” claimed one witness.

The victim was shot at least three times, with a fatal gun shot wound to the head.

“Some bystanders were also injured,” said SAPS communications officer, Captain Shooz Magudulela. “No one has been arrested at this time, but we are investigating the case.”

This incident follows close on the heels of another violent altercation, in which one man was shot and killed in the same area last week in another alleged taxi violence related crime.
