Bass Mechaniks shine at car show

Estcourt lads received hearty cheers at the Bat-a-thon Car Show held at the indoor sports complex in Ladysmith on January 25.
A team of friends, who go by the name Bass Mechaniks, with seven cars between them, competed and were hugely successful, obtaining top places in their categories.
The results are as follows:
Vikash Hunsraj – third in rookie 2- 138.4 decibels (dbs).
Kavi Ramdeen – first in stock 1- 150dbs.
Ashwin and Prenay Kewalpersad – second in stock 2- 149.9dbs and second in bass boxing 146.3dbs.
Shehzaad Kader – first in stock 2 – 153.1dbs (VW Golf) and third in bass boxing 144.2dbs (Opel Corsa van).
Vikash Ramsuga – first in stock 3- 149.3dbs.
Kreasen Naidoo – third in advanced 2- 144.2dbs and first in bass boxing 148dbs
Kreasen Naidoo – Show and Shine – first in 2000-2014 model. First overall for Show and Shine.
Shehzaad Kader – second overall for loudest sound with 153.1dbs.
The Bass Mechaniks say that their friendship and good partnership have made them a force to be reckoned with.
“Coming from Estcourt, we are always made fun of and picked on but after leaving this show, people know not to mess with the Bass Mechaniks,” said team member Shehzaad Kader.
The team urges the community to support them, they say it only gets louder from here on!
