Kitten trapped in tree
Despite the kitten's desperate calls for help, it put up quite a fight and did not want to be held by anyone
An obstinate little kitten was rescued on Thursday after a woman saw that it was stuck in a tree in her yard.
The resident said that the cat had been mewing since Wednesday night and was unable to get down. She has three dogs and they were all waiting at the base of the tree for the terrified little kitten to come down. Hence it didn’t!
The municipality’s nuisance inspector was called out on Thursday to help. The kitten was so far up the tree that other members of the municipality were called in with a ‘cherry picker’ truck to try and reach the animal. One of the municipal workers climbed the tree while others tried to coax the creature towards them in the cherry picker. Despite the kitten’s desperate calls for help, it put up quite a fight and did not want to be held by anyone. The first attempt to save it failed, as it fell out of the tree and ran back up a different branch, higher this time.
The truck was moved and they tried again. The kitten again slipped their grasp, but was caught on the ground. It was put into a netted bag and taken to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) kennels.
