Donation keeps development moving

Development rugby is continually on the move.
This statement rang true, after the keys to a new Toyota Etios were handed over to KwaZulu-Natal Rugby Union development officer, Siphamandla Mbhele in Estcourt last Wednesday morning.
Marked with the Sharks’ logo and swirls of matching colour, the car is certainly striking.
“I like it very much, it’s lovely,” Mr Mbhele exclaimed, as Edu Rohrs of Mortimer Toyota showed him the car, which will be used extensively to reach schools in deep rural areas.
Rugby coaching and playing the sport will be aimed at children from the same areas.
The development rugby team meets and coaches hundreds of pupils from schools across the region, including Estcourt, Wembezi, Ladysmith, Newcastle, Dundee and other inland towns.
Mr Mbhele said the vehicle was a gesture of Mortimer literally taking rugby to the community.
“The KZN Rugby Union appreciates Mortimer (Toyota) coming on board to help in the community; this vehicle will be used to meet their needs,” he concluded.
