Safety tips to save lives

The learner’s role-played traffic lights and drivers, which made things much more interesting for their fellow class mates to watch and understand

“Aunty Nafisa” made a stop at Estcourt Christian Academy to teach the little grade R’s a fun but educational lesson regarding the importance of road safety.
On Thursday, February 27 at 9.45am the learners put on their ‘listening ears’ making sure not to miss a word.
What is a traffic officer and what is their duty? Were a few of the questions asked.
The purpose of Traffic Inspector Nafisa Gunkel’s visit to the pre-school was to educate the children on how important it is to save their little lives.
The learner’s role-played traffic lights and drivers, which made things much more interesting for their fellow class mates to watch and understand.
They attentively listened to the three important reasons of wearing a seat belt when in a vehicle.
“To save your little lives from fast cars, save the lives of the gogo, mommy and daddy and it’s a law or “rule” to wear a seat belts,” aunty Nafisa explained. When saying goodbye they rattled of what Ms Gunkel told them to take home and share with their families.
Many other such visits took place at various other schools in and around Estcourt during the week.
