Pothole problem in Rangoon Road

Potholes have become a big problem in Rangoon Road.

Huge potholes are found along the length of the road, forcing motorists to swerve out of the way to avoid damaging their vehicles or getting stuck.

Residents living in the vicinity say they have complained to the municipality about the state of the road, but nothing has been done about it. They say the crumbling road surface causes problems in the morning when people are taking their children to school or driving to work.

When it rains, water fills the potholes, adding to the danger for motorists. Not only that, but the stagnant water causes a build-up of algae, and bacteria starts to breed. This is not only an unpleasant sight, but the slimy green water swarming with insects poses a very real health hazard.

“The really deep pothole has been there for months now and no one seems interested in fixing up the road,” complained one resident. The general consensus is that it’s an accident waiting to happen, because you can’t avoid the potholes that are everywhere along Rangoon Road.

At the time of going to press, the municipality had failed to comment.
