A foul smell

A RESIDENT in the New Location, Wilmot Buthelezi and his family had to endure the terrible smell of sewage that was spewing out of a drain in the middle of their yard for at least two days in their home last week.

According to Mr Buthelezi, the problem started on Tuesday, March 4 in the evening. He reported the matter to the municipality immediately that day but received no assistance. At 21:00 Mr Buthelezi said that he tried to contact the managers of the department that deals with water issues in AbaQulusi Municipality, but to no avail.

As sewage kept spewing out of their front yard and the family was concerned about the health of the little children living in the Buthelezi household, they tried to call numerous numbers to get someone from the municipality to tend to the matter.

The family only received assistance a day later and by this time they had given up all hope.
