Appreciating ‘veteran’ farmers

Farmers also voted for a new logo for their association.

The Dundee Farmers’ Association held their annual general meeting on Friday afternoon, when members had a chance to ‘practice’ for the upcoming May 7 general election.
No, it was not about voting for a political party, but for a new logo that will appear on the association’s letterhead and be recognisable to all. Results will be out soon…
Andrew Adams is, for the second year in a row, Chairman of the association.
He presented certificates of appreciation to long-standing members Marthinus Müller, Clive Buntting, Dolf Nebbe and Kenny Robinson.
A presentation was done on the activities of the Department of Agriculture by Siegfried Haschke, who mentioned that food security is the department’s main priority.
The department assists emerging farmers in the rural areas with fencing, ploughing and expertise.
The meeting ended with a traditional farmers’ braai at the sale kraal, also attended by Warrant Officer Juggan of the Dundee SAPS’s Farm Watch division.
