In promoting good health, the CANSA organisation recently spread awareness to learners from around the Umzinyathi District.
CANSA was one of the many organisations that took part in the Career Expo, hosted by the Umzinyathi District’s Education Department.
“We want to urge learners to make healthy lifestyle choices. They are embarking on a new phase as they start thinking about careers, so they need to be healthy and ready,” said Estella Naicker, CANSA’s Community Mobiliser. Estella added that it is important to reach this demographic and educate them with information on cancer.
“One in every four people in South Africa get cancer, but most cancers can be prevented, so it’s important to educate people early.”
