Victory stolen in the final minutes

VRYHEID Rugby Club had an exciting weekend, with the First and Second teams playing against Richard’s Bay at Cecil Emmett grounds on Saturday afternoon, March 29.

The Second team lost by a mere two points to Richard’s Bay with the final score being 24-26 and the First team lost to Richard’s Bay 11-16 in a very close match, in which Richard’s Bay managed to score in the closing minutes, securing their victory in a nailbiting finish.

Dedicated fans and followers will recall that last year it was Vryheid’s team who managed to score in the last minute, securing their place in the finals.

The league starts on Saturday, April 5 at Cecil Emmett grounds and will be played against Piet Retief.
