DA members take to the streets

Examples of the slogans on the posters were: "Prosecute corrupt councillors" and "You have the right to know"

During the course of the last week, members of the Democratic Alliance (DA) have been seen on the streets holding up placards to raise awareness for their party in the build-up to the National Elections.

Examples of the slogans on the posters were: “Prosecute corrupt councillors” and “You have the right to know”. A more common one was “Hoot for the truth”, which had motorists from every walk of life hooting away as they passed by! DA Member of Parliament Mr Alf Lees commented that, “We are really happy to see the support from hooting motorists. People of every colour are hooting and it’s really great. We just need everyone to vote at these elections. No one can complain if they have not voted.”

The enthusiastic DA members were seen at the intersection of Lyell and Princess Street on Friday morning, but have also been at AK’s and the intersection of Francis and Harrismith Road. They have been doing two hours of campaigning every morning and afternoon.
