UPDATE: Missing child – Bloemfontein sighting confirmed
“He also attempted to sell the spare wheel, but was unsuccessful,” confirmed Captain Claassen.

A statement given to police in Bloemfontein confirmed the suspect and the missing child were seen at Mimosa Mall at 5pm yesterday afternoon.
According to investigating officer, Captain Flip Claassen, he had spoken with the man who had been picked up by the suspect at approximately 9am yesterday morning near Senekal.
‘The couple was hitch hiking to Grahamstown, and they have confirmed the names and identities of the suspect and Marcel,” he said.
The hiker also confirmed that a large amount of clothing and bedding was on the back of the Ford Ranger light duty vehicle.
Furthermore, the hiker claimed he had to pay R320 for diesel, as the vehicle had run empty. The suspect only told the hiking couple he intended to go to ‘the Nigerians’ to sell the vehicle, and buy something lighter on fuel, as it was too heavy on diesel.
“He also attempted to sell the spare wheel, but was unsuccessful,” confirmed Captain Claassen.
It was said that from Bloemfontein, the suspect could easily be travelling to Johannesburg or Cape Town. Residents are urged to be on the lookout, and call Captain Claassen on 079 5000 453 immediately if the suspect is spotted.
