Farquhar Road residents left without water
The man was shocked when the person he was talking to on the phone told him that no one could be sent out at that time because they do not get paid overtime

A pipe burst in Farquhar Road last night (Thursday), leaving residents in the high school area without water.
One resident says he phoned uThukela on Thursday night, asking that they please dispatch workers to come and fix the pipe, as water was flowing down the road like a river.
The man was shocked when the person he was talking to on the phone told him that no one could be sent out at that time because they do not get paid overtime.
“What nonsense! What if there was a major water problem in Ladysmith, would they still ignore it and site overtime as the reason?
I’ve never heard anything like it; it’s just plain incompetence on their part,” said the furious resident.
At this time, the water is still off and residents are still waiting for uThukela workers to arrive.
