10 reasons why you are tweeting and posting at your own risk
If you are posting or putting stuff on the internet that you would not want your parents to read - STOP now!

1) Everything you tweet or post remains in cyber space. Twitter chats clear every three months, but a screenshot lives forever. The same goes for Blackberry Messenger – just because you delete a chat on your side does not mean it has been deleted by the other parties.
2) Most top employers look at your cyber trail before hiring. Facebook and LinkedIn can be very enlightening.
3) Instagram can use your photographs to make money without asking you. Even photos of your children.
4) Chat programmes like Snapchat do not delete messages; they only hide them. Several hacks are available online that can show all Snapchat posts. Snapchat is popular among teens at schools throughout SA. They mistakenly believe their messages are deleted after they are sent and received. Snapchat creators have admitted in a US court that this is not the case. They are currently working to fix issues…
5) Google scans and reads every single gmail you send and receive.
6) Some phones upload all internet content and photos onto any computer they are connected to, automatically, unless you change important settings.
7) Facebook changes its terms and conditions every single day. That includes, on occasion, its privacy settings. The golden rule is that nothing is guaranteed to stay private.
8) Instagram tells everyone where and when you took a photograph. That pic of you on the beach when you told the boss you were not feeling well and could not come to work could come back to haunt you.
9) Do not take photos at work, while low-res images of your overflowing desk may prove how hard you work. Today’s smartphones take very high definition photos, which means people can actually read the documents on your desk. Your boss may not like that idea.
10) Instagram leaves a photo trail anyone can follow. You tell them (in photos) everything you do: where you are and how often you visit a place – a cyber stalker’s dream.
