Man stabbed repeatedly in Allen Street shop
The knives plunged into the victim’s body over and over, as reports indicated the men wielding the knives shouted, ‘Impimpi!’
Earlier this month, a man suffered a brutal attack at the hands of three suspects in a shop in Allen Street. Armed with knives, surveillance footage showed the suspects entering the shop and attacking the victim, stabbing him repeatedly.
The knives plunged into the victim’s body over and over, as reports indicated the men wielding the knives shouted, ‘Impimpi!’
Sources have alleged the three men were connected to the business, and were possibly employees of the same shop in the past.
The suspects then exited the building, leaving the man to die. Fortunately, the victim survived the brutal attack, and was transported to Madadeni Hospital for treatment.
The identity of the victim is unclear at this stage, however, Captain Shooz Magudulela, police spokesperson, has confirmed the incident did in fact take place, and was reported to the Newcastle SAPS.
“The incident was reported and we are currently investigating a case of assault with grievous bodily harm,” said Captain Magudulela.
He also explained that more than 10 suspects had been arrested in the CBD area for assault with grievous bodily harm and for the possession of dangerous weapons.
“The suspects arrested are connected with the prison gangs, the 26’s and the 28’s. Seven suspects were arrested after another incident in Kirkland Street, and were denied bail.”
