A plume of smoke can be seen from miles away from the fire that is burning the veld on the corner of Ruby Gailey Drive and Impala Street in the Observation Hill area.
Municipal workers are there to ensure that the fire doesn’t get out of hand and that no one gets hurt. “We are burning all the veld here, right up to the Country Club,” said one of the workers.
The workers were seen walking along the road, spreading the fire along to ensure that the entire veld is burnt.
