Update: School pupil in stable condition

He will be transferred to Netcare Milpark Hospital later today for treatment.

The schoolboy who was knocked while cycling to school this morning is in a stable condition.

Network Marketing Manager for MediClinic Newcastle, Mariette Claassen explained it did not seem the boy had sustained serious injuries so far.

Currently, the boy is being held in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

According to Mrs Classen, the pupil sustained head trauma and would be kept under close observation.

He will be transferred to Netcare Milpark Hospital later today for treatment.
