Rumours that Lady Gaga is employed at the Courier office are not true, but merely a case of mistaken identity.
The confusion arose when a member of the community arrived at the Courier office asking for previous receptionist, Bernice Fourie. He told staff that he had heard on the radio that Bernice could help him promote his CD’s. He then saw her name in the Classifieds of the newspaper and came to see her hoping to get his music out there.
When staff informed him that she no longer worked there and that he should ask the local radio station if they could help, he left.
However, he returned later and with a ‘Poker Face’ asked the receptionist if the lady he spoke to earlier was Lady Gaga.
He said that he was unsure if she was so he thought he’d just find out.
The Courier staff member in question denied that she was Lady Gaga, though she does possess vocal skills. When questioned about her resemblance to the pop star she said ‘I was just Born This Way.’
The Courier staff member asked not to be named as she was frightened the ‘Paparazzi’ would invade her privacy.
