The train pulled into Ladysmith on Friday morning for the Emnambithi/ Ladysmith Mayoral Breakfast at the Crown Hotel

The Loliwe Tourism Train embarked on another exciting and unique travel experience ahead of the Durban July horse racing extravaganza, and the train pulled into Ladysmith on Friday morning for the Emnambithi/ Ladysmith Mayoral Breakfast at the Crown Hotel.

Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality, Loliwe, the Jezreel Group and KZN Tourism have come together for the third time to expose locals and tourists from abroad to South African culture in the form of tourist destinations. Loliwe Tourism Train’s main aim is to expand domestic travelling by rail transport.

The train took off from Gauteng for Durban with its ambassadors, who are well-known actors and performers. These include Dudu Khoza, Leleti Khumalo, David Kau, Winnie Modise, Sophie Ndaba and Desmond Golding (HOD of the Department of Economic Development).

Mayor Vincent Madlala and his wife were present, and encouraged the celebrities to invest in the town. “Ladysmith, as small as it is, has a lot to offer to tourists and has the potential to grow, which is why we urge potential investors to plant seeds in our fertile soil. This venture has served as a great tourism platform for us and for this we are very grateful to the founders of Loliwe,” said the mayor.
