The crowning event of the 2014 Miss and Mr Africa pageant was held on Sunday, June 29 at the ACPP Hall in Pretoria.
This is the fifth time this event has been held in the city of Pretoria.
This is a pageant with a difference – the finalists are required to represent their forefathers and as a result of this, the finalists start looking into their heritage and culture.
The winners in each category, together with their runners up, take part in charity and community work within their respective provinces, thus brightening up the lives of those who are less fortunate than themselves.
Some of the charity work involves visiting the sick and elderly in hospital, HIV/Aids homes, children’s homes and homes for the aged as well as attending fundraising events.
The judging includes personal interviews, rehearsals, modelling skills and confidence.
Pageants SA is very proud to announce that Estcourt lad Michael Keyter has been crowned Mr Jnr Africa 2014. Michael will be working in his community during the next 12 months, making a difference in the lives of others.

To my family thank you for being my number one fans and to everyone else thanks for the wonderful support! Lastly to Jodelle – Miss Jnr. Africa 2014, I am looking forward to reigning with you. Let us carry this title with utmost grace and elegance and make a huge difference in people’s lives.

A rare disease is a disorder, including those of genetic origin, are life threatening or chronically debilitating diseases which are of such low prevalence that special combined efforts are needed to address them. As a guide, low prevalence is taken as a prevalence of less than one per 4,000 in a community. I also won best model, best dressed evening wear, best dressed national costume as well as best judges and contestants souvenir.”
