A day of wellness with Discovery

With the theme of empowering women, Discovery held a Wellness Day last Saturday at its premises on Drakensberg Road.

Setting the tone, Hellen de Bruyn, the National President of South African Council for Businesswomen, gave an informative presentation on the role of women in the business world.

Although the business world was predominantly male dominated, Mrs de Bruyn said women were proving their worth, rapidly bridging the gender gap.

According to Mrs de Bruyn, the gender gap in South Africa is currently 18 per cent, which showed that women were being taken seriously. She credited Government for its role in encouraging businesswomen to step up to the challenge.

Guests were encouraged to support businesswomen in their endeavours, as development would stimulate economic growth.

The day was not only about formalities, as the mood was set with good music, a scrumptious meal and the opportunity to socialise on a warm winter’s afternoon.
