Karou Charou performs at Civic Hall
It was a night of rolling in the aisles, as the 'turbaned one' let the jokes rip
Karou Charou entertained the people of Ladysmith last night (Saturday) at the Civic Hall.
As one of South Africa’s top comedians, he is known for his brazen, adult humour, with ‘f’ bombs being dropped left, right and centre. He is also a bit of a hypnotist and tries his hand at ‘curing’ people of bad habits such as smoking, right there on stage.
It was a night of rolling in the aisles, as the ‘turbaned one’ let the jokes rip and targeted unsuspecting audience members on his forays off stage.
The show’s name was ‘Ma-Dhir’ (which we’re told is not a swear word, but rather more akin to “mother”) and it certainly lived up to the expectations of ‘controversy’ the name hints at. Giving the show a bit of a Bollywood feel, Karou even threw in some song and dance items.
If having your funny bone tickled was what you were in the mood for last night, then the Civic Hall was certainly the place to be!
