The campaign aims to educate pupils on the importance of living in a clean, litter-free environment. Amajuba High School hopes to make a memorable difference in the mindset and attitude of not only pupils, but the entire community of Newcastle.
The campaign is a joint venture with Protection Services, Newcastle police and the Mayor’s office.
Pupils will begin the clean-up from Trim Park opposite Mortimer Toyota at 8.30am, continuing across the bridge, turning right at the second robot and left at Saint Oswalds Secondary School. The last stop of the clean-up will take pupils towards Hospital Street to the park formerly known as Lover’s Park.
Grab a couple of black bags, gather your friends and join fellow Grade 11 and 12 pupils from Newcastle in a day of service to the community wrapped up in a fun-filled field trip!
Should your school be interested in participating in the clean-up, contact Mrs E. Myburgh on 034 318 3061.
Schools are requested to provide an estimate of how many pupils will take part in the initiative.
