Sangoma’s hunch leads to dam search

The K9 Search and Rescue Unit of Ladysmith spent the morning searching for a man in two dams in the Hobsland area earlier this morning (Tuesday).

This follows a request made by the son of the missing man to Ladysmith police.

The son who does not live in Ladysmith was notified by a family member who lived with the father that he is missing.

The son then sought the advice of a Sangoma (traditional healer)  in an attempt to find his father. After giving background information to the healer, the son was encouraged to search in the dams near the man’s home.

According to the sangoma the man had been attacked walking back home by the people residing in the area who were fully aware that he receives pension and had pestered him about handing it over.

The son says that his father is quite aged and if what the traditional healer said was true, would not have been able to fight off his attackers.
